Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also known as Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed by the label's the first artist of female gender for Dreamville Records by J. Cole. She released her first EP with the label on October 21st, 2016, titled Pho. This is when she gained notoriety. Her first album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading music on the internet in 2012, when she released her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014 she continued to share her music over the internet including her independently released single Bound. On July 21st, 2015, Omen featured her on Elephant Eyes' track"Sweat it Out.. J. Cole asked her to join him in collaboration for Rihanna's remark. In the following year, her music circulated throughout Dreamville. It was announced on December 8 that she was signed to Dreamville Records. She was featured on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. On October 21, 2016 the EP Pho debuted. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song and opened her own tour, the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. The year 2018 saw Ari Lennox guested on two tracks featuring EarthGang and EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas, on Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first song Whipped Cream off of Shea Butter Baby on July 16th. A music clip was then followed by a short video in September. In November, she released the singles forty Shades of Choke & Grampa. Then, on November 13 the singer released two new singles titled The No One and Pdigree. She was featured with Cole in the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby On November 16, and then made the track available in a solo version for the album she released her debut. The track was made available with a video on YouTube 20 February 2019 was watched more than 3 million times in the first seven days. In December of 2018 she performed on her From East Atlanta With Love Tour featuring 6LACK.
